Mark and Gina came to the Guam center after the retirement of his father. Mark is the son of missionary parents who were the first Pentecostal missionaries on Guam. They started a military church in Guam in 1960. Mark grew up on Guam and in military ministry. Mark worked with the Yigo Center in Guam for two years and was appointed pastor after completing the Ministerial Internship Program and transferring his ordination credentials from the Assemblies of God. The Burkes have been in the ministry on Guam for over 20 years. Having grown up working with military ministries, it was a natural progression for the Burkes to take the position as pastors. They are accustomed to working in an area that has been a major military outpost for the U.S. for many years and understand the difficulties faced by servicemen, far from home and family.The Burkes have three children, daughters Kaiana and Kelley and son, Kevin. All three are married and they have 6 grandchildren.
